Juventus Near Deal for Sorloth as Vlahovic Departure Looms

Juventus have moved a step closer to securing Alexander Sorloth as their next centre-forward, with an agreement in place with the Norway international and talks intensifying with Atletico Madrid over a transfer fee.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport, Sorloth has accepted Juventus’ proposal: a contract worth around €4m per season, running until 2029 with an option for 2030. The personal terms are no longer the issue. The deal now hinges on Juventus and Atletico finding common ground before the World Cup kicks off.

Race against the World Cup clock

Time matters here. Norway are set to make their World Cup debut against Iraq on June 17 (CET), and Juventus want the move essentially wrapped up before Sorloth steps onto that stage.

The plan is clear: if the clubs reach an agreement in time, a Juventus representative will fly to the USA to oversee Sorloth’s medical tests and finalise the switch while he is on international duty. The club do not want a month-long global tournament to slow down their rebuild in attack.

Replacing Vlahovic

This pursuit comes with a clear backdrop: Dusan Vlahovic is on his way out. The Serbian forward has decided to leave as a free agent when his contract expires in June, forcing Juventus to accelerate their search for a new No. 9.

Sorloth, experienced and in his prime, has emerged as their chosen solution. He is coming off a strong spell at Atletico Madrid, where his profile as a powerful, direct centre-forward has drawn attention beyond Spain.

Atletico, for their part, are ready to listen to offers. They value Sorloth at around €30m–€35m. Premier League clubs have also shown interest, which strengthens their negotiating position.

Juventus see it differently. They want to keep the total fee under €30m and are looking for ways to bridge that gap without walking away from the table.

Nico Gonzalez as a bargaining chip

One key lever could be Nico Gonzalez. The midfielder spent the 2025–26 season on loan at the Wanda Metropolitano and does not intend to return to Turin this summer. Atletico are keen to keep him, but that requires a permanent deal.

Juventus may be prepared to offer Atletico a discount on Gonzalez’s purchase price to ease the Sorloth negotiations. A compromise package involving both players could help bring the overall cost down to a level the Italian club consider acceptable, while still satisfying Atletico’s valuation.

The outlines are there: Sorloth to Turin, Gonzalez to Madrid, and both clubs walking away claiming victory.

Juventus push, Atletico wait

Inside Juventus, there is confidence that an agreement with the Colchoneros will eventually be found, even if the final figures remain under discussion. Atletico know they have a saleable asset in Sorloth and are under no pressure to rush, especially with Premier League interest lurking in the background.

Juventus, though, are pushing hard. They want clarity before the World Cup, they want their Vlahovic replacement locked in, and they want Sorloth to arrive knowing he is the focal point of a new attacking project.

If the two clubs can finally shake hands in the coming days, Sorloth’s next goal celebration may not be at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid, but in front of a restless crowd in Turin, eager to see who will lead their line into a new era.
