On the other side, Galatasaray land in Lisbon carrying the swagger of reigning Turkish champions and the form to back it up. Okan Buruk’s side have taken 10 points from their first four Süper Lig games, with three wins and a draw putting them top of the table.
Their latest outing was a wild 3-2 away victory over İstanbul Başakşehir, a game that showcased both their firepower and their vulnerability. Victor Osimhen, Lucas Torreira and Gabriel Sara all found the net, underlining the variety of threats in this squad.
But the big question hangs over Osimhen. The striker is dealing with an adductor issue, and his availability is uncertain. For a player who changes the temperature of a match with one run in behind, that doubt looms large over Galatasaray’s preparations.
