Ravens Suffer Second-Half Collapse Against Queen's

Kingston, ON – For 45 minutes, Carleton looked in control. By full time, they were staring at a 3-0 defeat and wondering how it had unraveled so fast.

The Ravens flew out of the blocks, carving out early chances and pinning Queen's back. Xavier-Etienne Patry tested the Gaels first, with Damiano Totten and Marek Achadinha also finding pockets of space and sightlines to goal. Carleton moved the ball with confidence, dictated the tempo, and shut Queen's down so completely that the hosts failed to register a single shot attempt in the opening half.

Second Half

Then the game flipped.

Early in the second half, Luke Harrop was whistled for a foul in the box. Up stepped Damola Akanni, and he buried the penalty to break the deadlock and tilt the night in Queen's favour.

The setback rattled Carleton, and Queen's pounced. Isaac Molouba struck next, and before the Ravens could regroup, Sebastian Aguade added another less than a minute later. Three goals in a blur. From stalemate to 3-0, just like that.

Carleton tried to claw something back in the final ten minutes. Achadinha rose well to meet a cross but saw his header fail to find the net. Adrijan Vrankovic also had a late look at goal, only for that chance to go begging as well.

No consolation, no late lifeline. Just a harsh lesson in how quickly a match can get away.

The Ravens won’t have long to dwell on it. They head back on the road Sunday for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff at Ontario Tech, needing a response and a reset after a brutal swing in Kingston.
