PSG Relieved as Hakimi Escapes Serious Injury Ahead of Clasico

Paris Saint-Germain left Brest with three points and a question mark over one of their key men. Twenty-four hours later, that cloud has largely lifted.

Achraf Hakimi, who limped off during PSG’s narrow 1–0 win away to Stade Brest in Ligue 1, has escaped serious injury. The right-back appeared to clutch his hamstring as he came off, sparking concern on the bench and among supporters, especially with the Ligue 1 Clasico against Olympique Marseille looming.

Luis Enrique admitted after the game he couldn’t yet gauge how bad it was. PSG’s medical update has now provided the answer.

On Monday, the club announced on their official website that Hakimi suffered “a minor injury to his right thigh” during the match in Brittany. The statement confirmed he will receive medical treatment for two days, with an additional examination scheduled at the end of that period.

The key detail for PSG: the injury is not expected to rule him out of Sunday’s showdown with Marseille.

Hakimi’s availability for the Clasico is a major boost for the capital side. His form and constant attacking threat down the right have been central to Enrique’s game plan, and losing him on the eve of one of the season’s defining fixtures would have been a heavy blow.

Instead of weeks on the sidelines, PSG are managing days. The focus now is simple: two days of treatment, one more check, and then all eyes on Marseille.
