At Providence Park, the narrative wrote itself: two-thirds of ‘Triple Espresso’ back on the same pitch, but wearing different colors and chasing the same prize.
Trinity Rodman and the Washington Spirit arrived needing a result to stay in touch with Gotham. Sophia Wilson and the Portland Thorns needed one to keep their own hopes from stalling.
