Luis Enrique Concerned After Hakimi Injury in Brest

Paris Saint-Germain left Brest with the points on Sunday, but also with their first major worry of the season.

Achraf Hakimi, one of the cornerstones of Luis Enrique’s system, limped out of the Ligue 1 clash shortly before half-time, clutching his right adductor. The Morocco international tried to run it off, then stopped near the touchline, checked the muscle himself and quickly signalled to the bench. His night was over.

For a side that had so far dodged the usual early-season knocks, this was the first real injury blow. The timing is awkward too, with the international break fast approaching and Hakimi a key figure for both club and country.

Luis Enrique, asked about the defender’s condition after the match, kept his cards close to his chest. Speaking to Foot Mercato, the PSG coach said: “Hakimi? I hope the injury is not serious, it is difficult to determine that. He will undergo a medical examination tomorrow.”

No diagnosis yet. No timeline. Just a waiting game in Paris.

PSG’s medical staff will now put Hakimi through tests to determine the extent of the adductor problem and how long he might be out. Until those results land, the question hangs over the French champions: how big a hole does this leave on the right flank, and for how long?
