Jamal Musiala's Cautious Return to Training
Jamal Musiala has taken a significant step back towards full action, but Bayern’s medical and coaching staff are determined not to rush him.
According to Bild, the 23-year-old’s medication dosage was recently increased after he suffered two collapses in friendly matches, linked to brief neurological disturbances and short losses of consciousness. The incidents prompted a cautious response inside the club, with the clear decision that any comeback must be managed carefully rather than forced.
That caution remains. The report stresses that those in charge see no need to accelerate his return, even as the player himself edges closer to match readiness.
On Monday afternoon, Musiala completed the full team training session. The Germany international looked sharp, physically strong and fully engaged, throwing himself into challenges and staying involved from first drill to last. Part of the session took place on a pitch shielded by a protective screen, part on the adjacent open field, and Musiala handled both environments without issue.
For Vincent Kompany, the outlook suddenly looks brighter. With Musiala back in the thick of training and Serge Gnabry also returning, Bild notes that the coach finally has his entire squad available on the grass. No one is left in the treatment room. No one is stuck on an individual programme.
Now it’s a question of timing: with a full group at his disposal, Kompany can choose exactly when – not if – Musiala steps back into competitive football.
