Eli Junior Kroupi Shortlisted for Men’s Young Talent of the Year Award

Eli Junior Kroupi’s rise has paused on the pitch, but it has not gone unnoticed.

The Bournemouth forward has been shortlisted for the Men’s Young Talent of the Year award ahead of the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, a nod to a breakout season that turned heads across the Premier League.

At 20, Kroupi is one of three Premier League players in the 10-man list, joining Manchester City’s Ayyoub Bouaddi and Aston Villa’s Johan Manzambi among Europe’s most highly rated young prospects.

Kroupi only made his Bournemouth debut in August 2025. He did not ease his way in. Thirty-five appearances. Thirteen goals. All competitions. A teenager playing like he had been in the league for years.

By the end of the 2025-26 campaign, he had outscored every other teenager in a debut Premier League season. In a division that devours young forwards, he thrived.

The momentum has stalled slightly. A foot injury in pre-season, surgery, and a frustrating spell on the sidelines have kept him out of action so far this term. Bournemouth expect him back in October or November, a return date that suddenly carries even more intrigue with this nomination attached to his name.
