Benjamin Sesko's Comeback Goal and Team Frustration

Benjamin Sesko marked his return from injury with a goal – and a grimace.

The 23-year-old striker stepped back into the spotlight with a crucial strike, only to see his side throw away victory in the final seconds. The late collapse left him visibly annoyed despite the personal milestone.

“We're very disappointed of course because we were very close [to winning] and yet so far,” he told MUTV, the frustration clear. “To concede a goal like that in the last minute, it's painful for everyone because everyone was giving everything to try and win the game. Every single person here wants that. In the moments like this where a last shot decides it, it's very painful.”

Sesko’s goal was a timely reminder of his value after fitness problems disrupted most of his pre-season. The finish should have been the headline of his comeback. Instead, it became a footnote to a gutting finale.

Even so, he refused to dwell on the damage for long. The forward quickly turned his attention to what his performance – and the team’s effort – could mean in the weeks ahead.

“For me, it's the best feeling when I'm scoring, especially for the club like that,” he said. “When I can provide the goals and the points for the team – it's my job at the end of the day. It's nice to be back with the team to experience all the games again. Of course I wish today that we had won, but we can't change that.”

The sting of those lost points will linger, but Sesko is determined not to let it cloud the bigger picture of his return.

“It's really important to take everything as positive even when it's not the best option from today,” he insisted. “To see the game in a good light, to try and improve and focus for the next game.”

His message was simple: the last kick hurt, but the comeback has started.
