Bayern Munich's Friendly Win Overshadowed by Injuries to Musiala, Laimer, and Kim

Bayern Munich’s 3-1 friendly victory over RB Leipzig in the Munich heat came at a cost, with Jamal Musiala, Konrad Laimer and Minjae Kim all leaving the pitch injured in a worrying afternoon for Vincent Kompany.

Musiala scare after scoring

The most alarming moment arrived just minutes after Musiala had made it 3-1, capping a sharp attacking move in sweltering conditions.

With no opponent near him, the Germany international suddenly collapsed to the turf. Ismael Saibari reacted instantly, sprinting across and managing to catch Musiala before he hit the ground, while Joshua Kimmich also rushed over as concern spread through the Bayern ranks.

Medical staff charged onto the pitch and a stretcher followed, raising the tension inside the stadium. Musiala received treatment for several minutes as team-mates and opponents looked on.

Eventually, he was helped back to his feet and left the field supported by the team doctor, walking slowly but unaided by the stretcher that had been brought out.

After the final whistle, board member for sport Max Eberl moved to calm immediate fears, even as the club awaited a full medical report. “The most important thing is that he’s doing well,” he said, underlining Bayern’s relief that the situation had not escalated further.

Laimer and Kim add to injury concerns

The Musiala incident came on top of earlier setbacks.

Laimer had already departed after clutching his right thigh following a challenge. He received on-pitch treatment but could not continue and was substituted, leaving Bayern to wait on scans and a precise diagnosis.

Minjae Kim also failed to finish the match, adding another defensive concern on a day that was supposed to serve as a high-level pre-season test rather than an exercise in damage limitation.

Bayern still emerged 3-1 winners against Leipzig, but as the players left the pitch, the scoreboard felt secondary. With the season edging closer, the real question now is how quickly Kompany can get three key figures back on their feet.
