Ballinora’s bid to overturn last week’s controversial ruling has hit a dead end, with the Munster Council rejecting their appeal on Monday night and confirming Fermoy’s passage to the McCarthy Insurance Group PIFC quarter-finals.

They contacted Fermoy directly to seek a replay. Fermoy declined, opting to stand by the post‑match awarding of the game and the official correction.
That left the Munster Council appeal as Ballinora’s last throw of the dice. Once Monday night’s verdict came down, the matter was effectively closed. Fermoy stay in the championship and will now face Rockchapel in the quarter‑finals, with Macroom set to take on Naomh Abán in the other last-eight tie. Both games are fixed for Sunday.
