Yaya Toure Amazed by PSG's Masterclass After 6-1 Champions League Loss

Yaya Toure Praises PSG After Heavy Champions League Defeat

Slovan Bratislava manager Yaya Toure was left impressed by Paris Saint-Germain following their dominant 6-1 victory at the Parc des Princes. The former Ivory Coast international described the reigning European champions as a flawless machine, expressing his desire to emulate their style.

Tactical Brilliance on Display

Toure acknowledged PSG’s control throughout the match, highlighting their well-coordinated defense, midfield, and attack. Despite the lopsided scoreline, he insisted his team gave their all against a squad featuring ten Ballon d’Or nominees. The game also marked a milestone, as Toure became the first African coach to manage a team in the Champions League group stage.

Impressed by Luis Enrique's Team

During the post-match press conference, Toure lavished praise on PSG head coach Luis Enrique and the team he has built. He described them as a unit that inflicts damage from all areas of the pitch and explained how difficult it is to press such a well-oiled side.

"I’d like to copy everything about this PSG," Toure said. "They’re a machine—defense, midfield, attack, they’re complete. You can’t press them. They know each other well; it’s not easy, they hurt you."

Dembele’s Performance a Challenge for Bratislava

Toure was asked repeatedly about Ousmane Dembele, who wreaked havoc with two goals and two assists. The coach joked that Dembele peaked at the worst possible moment for Slovan Bratislava but admitted facing such a player was a valuable experience for his young squad.

"Dembele? He’s my disappointment tonight," Toure joked. "I saw his last two or three matches, and he wasn’t in form, but tonight he really hurt us. He’s a fantastic player."

A Historic Night and Future Focus

Though the result was tough, Toure reflected on the significance of being a trailblazer as an African coach on such a prominent stage. He praised PSG’s sportsmanship and effort while predicting they would be serious contenders once again.

Looking ahead, Slovan Bratislava will turn their attention back to their domestic league fixtures, hoping to apply lessons learned from the encounter with the French giants.

"Paris is one of the best teams we will face," Toure concluded. "They respected us and played their hearts out."
