2027 Women's World Cup: List of Qualified Teams Heading to Brazil
Brazil is hosting the 2027 Women’s World Cup, which will begin on June 24 and conclude with the final on July 25. The tournament will take place across eight cities, including the famous Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

How Teams Secured Their Spots
The first teams qualified through the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in March 2026. Semi-finalists earned automatic berths, sending Australia, China, South Korea, and Japan directly to Brazil. The remaining two spots from AFC were decided by playoffs where the Philippines beat Uzbekistan and North Korea overcame Chinese Taipei.
New Zealand qualified by edging Papua New Guinea 1-0 in the final round of Oceania qualifying. Papua New Guinea, along with Uzbekistan and Chinese Taipei, will enter the inter-confederation playoffs.
Europe’s first qualifier was Germany, who sealed their ticket after beating Norway in June. Spain, Denmark, and France also secured UEFA's automatic spots shortly after, with England missing out due to a heavy defeat against Spain.
From CONMEBOL, Argentina and Colombia qualified early in June based on their Nations League standings. Venezuela and Ecuador moved into inter-confederation playoff positions.
Africa’s representatives emerged at the delayed Women’s Africa Cup of Nations held in August. Algeria and Malawi surprised many by reaching the semi-finals, marking their first-ever appearances at this stage or beyond. Morocco and Cameroon joined them, with Cameroon ending Nigeria’s dominance by eliminating them in the quarter-finals.
Teams Still Chasing Qualification
UEFA has seven remaining qualification slots. Teams like England, Sweden, Italy, Norway, and the Netherlands face play-offs starting in October, concluding by December. One additional spot will be decided through inter-confederation playoffs.
The CONCACAF W Championship in November 2026 will determine four direct qualifiers and two playoff participants. Competing nations include the United States, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Haiti, Panama, Costa Rica, and El Salvador.
The inter-confederation playoffs will happen in February 2027 to finalize the last three teams. Confirmed participants so far include Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Papua New Guinea. Two teams each from CAF, CONCACAF, and UEFA will join them.
