Vinicius Junior, 26, has not signed the contract Real Madrid put in front of him. He has less than a year left on his current deal. Arsenal are circling. And the club know one thing for certain: they will not allow him to walk away for nothing next summer.

Arsenal are very interested in signing him. I have reports from England that say that Arsenal have the idea of throwing the house out of the window to sign him.

“If he does not want to renew, at least we have to make an important transfer. Let's see what happens, but when August arrives there is no clarity. If you can't convince him to renew, you have to consider getting a lot of money for him.”

The message is blunt: if he will not stay, he must be sold. And soon.

Arsenal’s opportunity

For Arsenal, this is the kind of situation that does not come around often. A prime-age Brazil international, a proven Champions League performer, potentially available with a year left on his deal and a club forced to make a decision.

Reports reaching Mijatovic from England suggest Arsenal are ready to “throw the house out of the window” to get him. That sort of language reflects the scale of the operation they are considering, both in fee and wages.

If Madrid hold their line on the contract offer, and Vinicius holds his on salary demands, the Premier League side suddenly look like the only escape route from a stalemate.
