Noni Madueke's Intense Summer Training in Dubai
Noni Madueke is refusing to treat this summer as a victory lap.
Fresh from helping England to a third-place finish at the 2026 World Cup, the 23-year-old is cutting short the usual post-tournament drift and heading straight back into work. Not at London Colney yet, but in Dubai, where the heat is unforgiving and excuses don’t last long.
According to reporter Simon Collings, Madueke has chosen the Middle East for the second phase of his summer break, blending warm-weather downtime with an intensive personal conditioning programme. Sunloungers can wait. Sprint drills cannot.
This is his first full pre-season as an Arsenal player after last summer’s £48.5m move from PSV Eindhoven, and he is treating it like an audition. The club granted him an extended holiday after his World Cup exertions. He has decided to spend the final stretch of it chasing sharpness rather than rest.
Dubai has become the unofficial off-season gym for Premier League footballers, a place where private performance coaches and brutal schedules sit just behind the luxury hotels. Madueke is expected to work with specialists on sessions built around explosive acceleration, close-control sharpness and serious cardiovascular work. The kind of training that bites hardest when the temperature climbs.
Every extra sprint is a message. Arsenal’s right flank already belongs to Bukayo Saka, who is himself targeting a far stronger 2026/27 after being carefully managed for long spells last season. Competition in Mikel Arteta’s forward line is not just healthy, it is ruthless.
Madueke knows he cannot stroll into that fight. By putting in heavy yards while others are still easing back, he is trying to arrive at pre-season not merely fit, but ahead of the curve, ready to convince that his second year in north London should look very different to his first.
Once his Dubai regime is complete, he will rejoin his Arsenal teammates and step into a pre-season that could shape his role for the entire campaign. The work has started early. Now he has to make it count.
