According to Corriere della Sera, the Rossoneri have circled back to a familiar name to solve their search for a new attacking midfielder. With their move for Greek prodigy Konstantinos Karetsas collapsing after the 18‑year‑old chose Borussia Dortmund in a €33 million deal from Genk, Milan have placed Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz back at the top of their list.
It is not a speculative punt. Diaz knows Milanello, and Milan know exactly what they would be buying.
A familiar No.10
The Moroccan international spent three seasons in red and black between 2020 and 2023, and grew from promising loanee to key contributor. Across 124 appearances on loan from Real Madrid, he scored 18 goals and provided 15 assists, often stitching together Milan’s attacks in tight games and big moments.
He played his part in the club’s resurgence, helping Stefano Pioli’s side to the Serie A title in 2022, their first Scudetto in over a decade. That campaign cemented his reputation with the Curva Sud as a playmaker who could both glide between the lines and work relentlessly out of possession.
