Mason Mount Faces Fresh Setback in PSG Clash

Manchester United’s meeting with Paris Saint-Germain delivered more than an early setback on the scoreboard. It brought another worrying chapter in Mason Mount’s troubled Old Trafford career – and a fresh concern over veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

The numbers are stark. Mount has spent around 400 days on the sidelines since pulling on a United shirt. For a player in his prime years, it is a brutal tally.

Carrick knows he needs reliability in that area of the pitch, not just reputation. Mount was supposed to be part of the solution, a high-energy, creative presence between the lines. Instead, his situation underlines the urgency for extra cover before the season’s demands truly bite.

On a night that began with Mbaye’s early blow and quickly descended into another injury bulletin, United were reminded of a hard truth: building a midfield on paper is one thing. Keeping it on the pitch is another entirely.
