The fee remains under wraps for now. However, a previous report from the Daily Mail suggested United would look for around £10m to part with Vitek this summer. If the final figure lands anywhere near that, it would represent a sizeable return for a player yet to make a senior breakthrough at Old Trafford.
For Middlesbrough, it’s a statement move: a young, technically polished goalkeeper, schooled at one of Europe’s biggest clubs, stepping into a side with promotion ambitions. Bayindir heads to Celta Vigo – with a buy option

Altay Bayindir, signed last year to provide cover but never truly trusted as a long-term challenger for the No.1 shirt, is on his way to Celta Vigo. Fabrizio Romano delivered his trademark “here we go” on Wednesday morning, confirming an agreement between United and the Spanish club.
The deal is a loan with a €4m buy option, a fee that can change depending on appearances. Bayindir has been given the green light to travel for his medical and to sign the contract with Celta.
It’s a move that suits all parties. Celta get a full international goalkeeper with something to prove. Bayindir finally escapes the limbo of life as a rarely used back-up at Old Trafford. United gain flexibility and a potential future fee without committing to an immediate sale.
