Liverpool Sign Natalia Ramos to Strengthen Midfield

Liverpool have moved again in the transfer market, securing Spanish midfielder Natalia Ramos from CD Tenerife Femenino, subject to visa approval and international clearance, in a deal that underlines the scale of their summer rebuild.

At 27, Ramos arrives with something Liverpool have been actively hunting all window: experience at a high level and the numbers to back it up. She leaves Tenerife after more than 200 appearances for the club, a long stint that saw her grow from promising youngster into a central figure. Last season alone she played 30 times in Spain’s top flight, scoring 10 goals and supplying five assists from midfield – output that will catch the eye in any league.

"I'm really, really happy," she said, emotion clear in every word. "I'm very excited to achieve this new step in my life and I'm very grateful for this new opportunity.

"For me it was a very easy decision and I'm very, very happy, with a lot of feelings and emotions because I know who the club is, the respect [it has].

"I feel very happy and privileged to take this shirt and sign at the club."

This is not a player arriving without pedigree. Ramos has worn Spain’s colours at Under-17 and Under-19 level and was part of the squad that lifted the 2017 Women's European Under-19 Championship in Northern Ireland, a tournament that helped shape a generation of Spanish talent.

Her signing continues a busy and deliberate summer for Liverpool. Ramos becomes the Reds’ sixth addition, following Mao Itamura, Vivien Endemann, Sara Agrez, Mari Ward and Khiara Keating through the door. One by one, the pieces are being laid down.
