Liverpool Close in on Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola Deals from PSG

Liverpool have reportedly reached a personal terms agreement with Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye, marking a significant step in their summer transfer plans. The 18-year-old Senegalese winger has attracted attention from across Europe but seems determined to join the Premier League side.

According to Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, Mbaye is set to sign a five-year contract at Anfield. Liverpool’s head coach, Andoni Iraola, views the young talent as an exciting addition to inject speed and youth into the squad, following the recent signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna.

Mbaye featured 29 times for PSG last season under Luis Enrique, scoring three goals, though he often found himself behind Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the pecking order. German club Bayer Leverkusen had also shown interest but Mbaye prefers the move to England.

Improved Offer for Bradley Barcola

Alongside Mbaye, Liverpool are pushing hard to secure another winger, Bradley Barcola. The Reds have reportedly increased their bid to €135 million for the 23-year-old French international, a clear signal of their determination to meet PSG’s valuation after lengthy negotiations.

The club has been cautious about big spending since breaking their transfer record with Alexander Isak’s £125 million move last summer. Yet the arrival of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in Liverpool’s ownership has altered the financial situation, allowing a more assertive approach in the market.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has yet to respond to this latest offer as Liverpool aims to conclude what might be one of the transfer window's most talked-about deals.

PSG Manager Stays Tight-Lipped

PSG boss Luis Enrique avoided comment when asked about the futures of Mbaye and Barcola. Both players were omitted from the squad that lost to Lens in the Trophee des Champions, despite having been unused substitutes in the UEFA Super Cup win over Aston Villa days earlier.

“I will discuss the transfer window once it is over,” Enrique told reporters before leaving the room.

PSG Squad Changes Continue

The possible exits of Mbaye and Barcola come as PSG undergo a noticeable reshuffle. The club has recently signed Ferran Torres from Barcelona and Mika Godts from Ajax, signalling a focus on younger talents moving forward.

Liverpool appear eager to take advantage of PSG’s transitional phase. With the recent departure of Mohamed Salah, they are keen to strengthen their squad well before the transfer deadline hits.
