Leandro Trossard Joins Besiktas from Arsenal

Leandro Trossard’s Arsenal chapter is over. The next one begins in Istanbul.

The 31-year-old Belgium international has completed a permanent move from Arsenal to Besiktas, signing for the Turkish Super Lig club in a deal worth a reported £15.3 million (RM84.3 million).

For Arsenal, it is the end of a quietly significant spell. For Besiktas, it is a statement that they still intend to shop at the top end of Europe’s market.

Trossard arrived in north London from Brighton in January 2023, a mid-season signing who was expected to add depth. He gave them far more than that. Across all competitions, he pulled on the Arsenal shirt 174 times, scoring 36 goals and supplying 34 assists, numbers that underline how consistently he affected games rather than just decorating them.

He also leaves as a champion. Trossard was part of Mikel Arteta’s side that finally dragged the Premier League trophy back to Arsenal last season, ending a title drought that had stretched for more than two decades. In a squad filled with younger stars, his experience and versatility on the left flank and in central areas helped carry the club through tense, defining weeks.

Arsenal marked his departure with a warm message, saying in a statement that “everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Leo for his valued contribution to the club and wish him all the best for his future.”

Besiktas now inherit a winger who has proven he can operate at the highest level, including on the World Cup stage in 2026. Arsenal move on in their evolution under Arteta; Trossard moves into a new footballing cauldron, where expectations are fierce and big nights come thick and fast.
