Juventus Pursues Zirkzee and Kolo Muani for Attack Revamp
Joshua Zirkzee has given the green light. Now it is up to Juventus to turn approval into ink on a contract.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Manchester United forward has signalled his willingness to move to Turin on loan this summer, and Juventus have already plunged into intensive talks with his agent, Kia Joorabchian, to make it happen. The deal is not simple, the intent is clear. Juve want him, and they want him quickly.
Double Track: Zirkzee and Kolo Muani
This is not a one-name market plan. While the hierarchy at Continassa push ahead with negotiations for Zirkzee, they are also prioritising a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Kolo Muani, with a €40 million package on the table according to Gazzetta.
It is a bold, two-pronged attempt to rip up and rebuild the attack in one window. Zirkzee for touch, timing and link play. Kolo Muani for depth, running and direct threat. Juventus believe that combination can drag their frontline into a different gear.
The interest in Zirkzee did not appear overnight. New football director Ricky Massara has admired the Dutchman for some time and tried to sign him for Roma in the winter window. He did not get his man then; he is pushing hard to correct that now.

Zirkzee’s numbers at Bologna still resonate: 12 goals and seven assists in Serie A in the 2023-24 season. That campaign showcased the modern centre-forward he can be – technically refined, comfortable dropping between the lines, able to knit together attacks as well as finish them.
His Premier League stint has been a different story. Since crossing to England, he has struggled to fully adapt and nail down a regular starting spot, managing just 19 starts across 68 league appearances over two seasons. Flashes of quality, but no extended run as the main man.
Juventus see opportunity in that gap between talent and status. In their eyes, Zirkzee is not a reclamation project but a stylistic match. His profile fits what Luciano Spalletti wants: a forward who can participate in the build-up, link with midfield, and still threaten the box. For a coach obsessed with structure and fluency, the Dutchman’s skill set makes sense.
Urgency in Turin
This is not a leisurely reshaping of the squad. There is urgency, and it has a name: Jeff Ekhator. The young Italian striker’s injury has stripped depth from a department that was already under scrutiny, pushing the Bianconeri into a more aggressive stance on the market.
The club’s leadership is moving on two fronts. Talks with United focus on a loan structure that works for all parties, while CEO Giovanni Carnevali is, as reported by Gazzetta, working to close the €40 million deal with PSG for Kolo Muani. Juventus are convinced that pairing Zirkzee’s technique with Kolo Muani’s pace will give Spalletti a far more unpredictable and dangerous attack.
This is a gamble on profile and chemistry rather than pure numbers. But it is a calculated one.
Spalletti Waiting on Green Light
Spalletti now waits. The coach has his tactical ideas mapped out, but needs clarity from the board on when these deals will be completed. Timing matters.
