Juventus to Loan Zion Suzuki from PSG as They Await Free Transfer of Liverpool’s Alisson Becker

PSG Finalizing Suzuki Deal
Multiple reports from Italy and France reveal that PSG is about to complete the acquisition of Suzuki from Parma for a €30 million fee, plus up to €5 million in performance bonuses. Despite this, Suzuki won’t feature for PSG this season. The club intends to loan him immediately back to Juventus for one year, making him a stopgap until Juventus can secure their main target, Alisson Becker.
Spalletti’s Priority: Alisson Becker
Juventus has explored other goalkeeper options, including talks with Aston Villa over Emiliano Martinez, but coach Luciano Spalletti’s focus remains on Alisson. The two share history from their time at Roma, where Alisson kept 26 clean sheets across 64 appearances. Earlier this year, Alisson showed willingness to join Juventus despite the club not playing in the Champions League, showing his commitment to the Italian side’s rebuilding plan.
Liverpool Blocks Immediate Transfer
Despite Alisson’s interest, Liverpool refused to sell him during this transfer window. The club values him highly; manager Andoni Iraola emphasized Alisson’s role as a leader alongside players like Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, crucial in helping new teammates settle in. With 333 appearances and 140 clean sheets, Alisson’s contribution includes two league titles and a Champions League trophy.
Plans Beyond the Short Term
With no option for an immediate transfer, Juventus are prepared to wait until Alisson’s contract expires in June 2027. In the meantime, they will integrate Suzuki into their squad once the loan deal is finalized.
