Hansi Flick Leads Barcelona to Record Seven Straight Wins with Dominant 7-2 Victory
Hansi Flick has propelled Barcelona to an unprecedented start this season by securing seven wins in a row. The latest triumph was a commanding 7-2 victory over Racing Santander, setting a new club record for the best opening run in their history.
New Milestone Achieved in Catalonia
The Catalan giants have never begun a campaign with such momentum. Their previous best was six consecutive wins, achieved only three times before: in the 1929/30, 1960/61, and 2018/19 seasons. None managed to clinch a seventh straight win until now.
"I liked the way we played and the three points. I’m happy, we’re happy. It’s not easy to play against Racing," Flick said after the game.
Building Momentum Through Intensity
Flick’s squad has combined a fierce attack with solid defense, scoring 33 goals and conceding just seven in these first seven matches. The wins span several competitions and include victories over Elche, Athletic Club, Rayo Vallecano, Valencia, Feyenoord, Levante, and Racing Santander. Flick insists that keeping this intensity and teamwork is key.
"It’s always good to start well, but what matters is how you finish. It gives us confidence, and I like the momentum and the intensity. Everyone presses, everyone is involved. How we work as a team is crucial," Flick explained.
Adeyemi’s Impact Growing
Among the team’s standout players, Karim Adeyemi is settling in well since joining. Flick highlighted his speed and contribution while noting there’s still room for tactical adjustment.
"He can improve and still needs to fully adapt to our way of playing, but he gives us a lot, as we saw today. I’m happy for him and I like what I see. He’s a fun player and a good guy who gives everything on the pitch. His pace is incredible," Flick remarked.
Looking Ahead: Next Challenge Awaits
Despite celebrating this record, Flick is already focused on maintaining form. The busy schedule demands consistent performance, and Barcelona will aim to extend their streak when they visit Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Saturday.
