Endrick Commits to Real Madrid for 2025-26 Season Despite Aston Villa Interest
Endrick has confirmed he will remain at Real Madrid for the 2025-26 season, turning down interest from the Premier League's Aston Villa. This decision followed discussions with coach Jose Mourinho, who envisions a key role for the young Brazilian in his tactical setup.

The news, reported by The Athletic, reveals that Endrick’s choice to stay is a joint decision involving the player, club officials, and Mourinho. Despite offers from several top European clubs eager to take advantage of Endrick’s limited playing time, the 20-year-old remains committed to fighting for his place in Madrid’s star-studded attack.
Mourinho’s Tactical Plans
Mourinho plans to give Endrick more chances on the right wing this season. The Portuguese manager does not see midfielders Federico Valverde or Bernardo Silva as long-term fits for that position. Endrick’s natural attacking style on the flank is expected to balance an offense often skewed toward the left side, allowing fluid movement among the front three.
Besides wing duties, Endrick will also be an important option up front. He will serve as the main backup striker behind star Kylian Mbappe, sharing this role with new signing Carlos Espi. This versatile role keeps him central to both La Liga and Champions League lineups.
Tracking Endrick’s Progress
Endrick joined Real Madrid from Palmeiras in July 2024, in a deal initially worth €35 million plus potential add-ons of €25 million. Since arriving, he has played 40 matches and scored seven goals, mostly in brief appearances.
His reputation remains strong internationally, as shown by his inclusion in Brazil’s 26-man squad for the recent World Cup under former Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti. Endrick played in every match except one before Brazil’s exit in the round of 16 against Norway.
New Season Preparations
As Real Madrid prepares to kick off their La Liga campaign against Espanyol on August 22, retaining Endrick marks a different strategy compared to other young talents. For example, teenager Franco Mastantuono was loaned to Fiorentina for the season to gain experience.
Endrick’s situation will be reviewed again in January, following a previous loan spell at Lyon where he impressed by scoring eight goals in 21 appearances. That stint helped him prove his quality despite limited minutes at Madrid.
