Emam Ashour Transfer Saga: Konyaspor's Bold Move
Emam Ashour’s name is back in bold letters on Turkish scouting lists, and this time Konyaspor are refusing to whisper.
According to media figure Ahmed Shobier, the Super Lig side have cranked their offer for the Al-Ahly midfielder up to 4 million and 250 thousand dollars after earlier, lower bids during the summer window. It is, the Turkish club say, their last push. Their final number. The one they believe should drag the deal over the line.
Al-Ahly, though, are telling a very different story.
Two versions of the same transfer
Speaking on his radio programme, Shobier explained that Al-Ahly insist no official offer has reached the club. Not now, not earlier in the window. Inside the “Red Castle”, the belief is that someone is trying to stir a crisis around Ashour, unsettle the dressing room and apply pressure from the outside.
Konyaspor’s camp, relayed again by Shobier, flatly reject that idea. A board member at the Turkish club maintains the upgraded bid has already been sent and is sitting in Al-Ahly’s inbox. The message from Konya was blunt: check your official email.
From their side, this is it. The 4.25 million dollar proposal is described as the final offer, with the club “desperate” to get Ashour through the door before the window closes. No drawn-out auction, no slow dance. They want a clear yes or no.
A promise bigger than Salah’s welcome
The pursuit is not just about money. It is about spectacle.
The same Konyaspor official, through Shobier, went further with a pointed promise: the club want to receive Ashour and celebrate him “in a better way than what happened with Mohamed Salah” after his move to Trabzonspor.
That is a bold benchmark. Salah’s switch to Trabzonspor generated huge noise in Turkey, from wall-to-wall coverage to a raucous public reception and celebrations that dominated the local scene. To publicly vow an even bigger welcome for Ashour underlines just how aggressively Konyaspor are trying to sell their project to the player and his camp.
They are not just chasing a midfielder. They are trying to stage an event.
Under Spanish skies, every move is watched
For now, Ashour remains with Al-Ahly, working through pre-season at the club’s camp in Spain. Shobier noted that Konyaspor are tracking his every step there, following training updates and monitoring his situation closely.
They have also done their homework on alternatives. According to Shobier, the Turkish side are aware of Gulf interest in the player but know Ashour has no desire to move to that region at this stage of his career. That narrows his realistic exit routes and keeps Konyaspor firmly in the frame—if Al-Ahly ever decide to open the door.

Right now, that door looks firmly bolted.
Shobier underlined that Al-Ahly’s stance this summer is to hold on to their core. The club do not want to lose any of their key men unless a truly enormous offer arrives, one that becomes impossible to refuse in pure financial terms.
Ashour is firmly in that protected group. So are Mostafa Shobier, Yasser Ibrahim, Mohamed Hany and Marwan Attia. These are the pillars the African giants intend to lean on for the coming season, with domestic and continental targets demanding stability rather than upheaval.
So the situation hangs in a familiar transfer-window tension: a Turkish club insisting they have pushed as far as they can go, a Cairo powerhouse denying any official contact and refusing to blink, and a midfielder at the centre of it all as promises of a grand reception echo from Konya to Spain.
If Konyaspor really have played their final card, the next move belongs to Al-Ahly alone.
