Chelsea Closing in on Danny Welbeck Transfer

Chelsea are closing in on one of the most unexpected moves of the summer: a deal for Brighton and Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck.

Xabi Alonso has identified the 35-year-old as the ideal foil for Joao Pedro, and talks have accelerated in recent days, with Chelsea increasingly confident of getting it done, according to sources.

Alonso reshapes Chelsea’s attack
