Burnley Sign Veteran Goalkeeper Ben Amos on One-Year Deal

Burnley have moved to add experience between the posts, signing goalkeeper Ben Amos on a one-year contract.

The 36-year-old arrives as a free agent after leaving Port Vale at the end of last season, bringing with him a career that has rarely stood still. He first emerged at Manchester United, coming through one of the most demanding academies in English football, and has since built a CV that stretches across the leagues.

Amos has worn a lot of shirts, faced a lot of crowds, and seen most things a goalkeeper can see.

Now he joins a Burnley squad that has been reshaped and re-energised, and he knows exactly why he is there. Speaking to the club’s website, Amos highlighted the balance in the dressing room and his role within it, saying he sees “a good blend of younger and older players” and hopes to add his experience and be “part of the senior group.”

Burnley get a seasoned voice, a steady pair of hands, and another strong character in the dressing room. At this stage of a long career, Amos is not arriving to learn the ropes. He is arriving to tighten them.
