Arsenal Make Inquiry for RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande After Missing Out on Morgan Rogers

After losing one of their main summer targets, Arsenal quickly began looking at other attacking options to boost Mikel Arteta's lineup. With Morgan Rogers signing for Chelsea, the club is exploring players who can bring speed and creativity to their front line.

Interest in Yan Diomande Grows

Reports from journalist Ben Jacobs reveal that Arsenal have made an initial enquiry about Yan Diomande, a promising winger from RB Leipzig. The inquiry is said to be in its early stages without formal talks underway.

Paris Saint-Germain currently lead the chase for the Ivory Coast international, having already agreed a five-year deal with him. Meanwhile, Leipzig hopes to either renew his contract or keep him for another season. The club values Diomande at around 30 million (30 million 20 million), which translates roughly to 30 million (approximately 30 million).

Player Preferences and Positioning

Diomande is versatile across the attack but prefers playing on the right wing, where he expects more regular game time. This preference creates a challenge for Arsenal, whose immediate requirement is stronger on the left side, especially after missing out on Rogers.

Arsenal's Chances Appear Slim

From the club's viewpoint, this move seems more like a precautionary check rather than a serious transfer pursuit. PSG’s existing agreement with the player makes it difficult for the Gunners to sway Diomande’s decision.

Leipzig’s sporting director Marcel Schafer has described Diomande as possessing "outstanding speed," along with strong dribbling skills, athleticism, and finishing ability. Despite these qualities, all signs suggest the player will head to Paris unless something unexpected happens.

Given the circumstances, Arsenal might focus better on other left-sided players who fit Arteta’s requirements more naturally and are easier to secure.
