Liverpool's Pursuit of Bradley Barcola Gains Momentum
Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola has been handed fresh encouragement, with Paris Saint-Germain now ready to entertain offers below their original sky‑high valuation, according to reports in France.
The Premier League side have already been busy reshaping their attack. Victor Muñoz has arrived from Osasuna, while centre-backs Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes and Ronald Araujo from Barcelona have strengthened the spine. The big question still hanging over Anfield, though, is how they replace the goals, chaos and sheer gravity of Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool initially explored a move for Yan Diomande at RB Leipzig, only to watch the winger lean towards PSG or Real Madrid. That setback forced a rethink. The focus moved quickly to Barcola, a France international whose status under Luis Enrique has slipped as new arrivals have flooded into the Parc des Princes.
PSG ease stance on Barcola fee
For weeks, Liverpool and PSG have been locked in talks, with the Ligue 1 champions signalling they wanted around £130m (€152m) for Barcola. French outlet Jeunes Footeux now claims that stance has softened.
The report says PSG had long insisted on a minimum of €150m, but recent signings in attack have shifted the landscape. Paris are now said to be prepared to listen to offers in the €130m–€140m range. It is only a “relative discount”, as the piece puts it, yet it underlines just how highly the PSG hierarchy still rate Barcola.
The same report frames it as a “gift” to Liverpool, a small gesture that could tempt the Premier League club to push even harder to get the deal over the line. PSG, though, are described as under no pressure to sell and unwilling to go any lower. There will be no fire sale in Paris.
Romano: Liverpool “pushing” as deal set to accelerate
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has echoed the sense that this saga is moving into a decisive phase. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano highlighted the absence of both Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye from the PSG squad as a clear signal of what is coming.
“The expectation is for both of them to go,” Romano said, pointing to the sheer depth of attacking options already assembled by PSG: Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ferran Torres, Mika Goots and Maghnes Akliouche. Six forwards, all vying for minutes. In that context, Barcola and Mbaye look increasingly expendable.
Romano stated that Liverpool are actively negotiating with PSG and “confident” about landing Barcola. The club are “pushing” hard, with a verbal agreement already in place on personal terms with the player. From Monday, Romano expects the talks to enter “crucial stages” as Liverpool attempt to accelerate the move.
PSG may not be desperate to sell, but their new attacking hierarchy is clear. Liverpool, armed with an agreement with Barcola and a slightly softened price tag, now have a narrow window to turn months of interest into one of the defining transfers of their post-Salah rebuild.
