Arsenal Poised to Outpace Liverpool in Pursuit of £100m Bradley Barcola After Securing Bruno Guimaraes

Arsenal have been predicted to beat Liverpool to the signature of PSG winger Bradley Barcola following their recent acquisition of midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

Strengthening the Squad

The Gunners keep adding to their lineup after officially signing Guimaraes from Newcastle United for £75 million. This marks the third addition this summer, alongside winger Christos Tzolis and goalkeeper Illan Meslier. Having missed out on Vinicius Junior, who renewed his contract with Real Madrid, and selling Leandro Trossard to Besiktas, Arsenal now target Barcola to boost their attack.

Competition With Liverpool

Liverpool have also placed a £100 million bid for Barcola, but PSG are holding out for closer to £150 million. Former Arsenal forward Perry Groves told talkSPORT that Arsenal might be more attractive than a Liverpool side still adjusting under new manager Andoni Iraola.

"I’ve got no dog in the fight, but I would say the Gooners because Liverpool are a team that are in transition. Andoni Iraola is imposing his style with all the new signings. If you were Barcola, considering which team has the best chance to win the Premier League or Champions League right now, you'd say Arsenal. So if Arsenal want to pursue him, they would be making moves," Groves said.

He also revealed insider info about Barcola's preferred living spot: "I've got a source that says Barcola wants to live in London. I can't reveal my source, but he would be very good for Arsenal."

Support From Former Players

Ex-Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong echoed the call to add quality players to maintain dominance after last season’s Premier League triumph.

"Mikel Arteta and the squad finally clinched the title, which I'm happy about. But winning once isn't enough; they must keep pushing to dominate like Man United and Man City did. We've got a deep squad, but this summer, the board should strengthen further, especially by adding wingers and a proper number eight," Frimpong explained.

"Bruno Guimaraes and Bradley Barcola are the kind of signings I'd love to see at Arsenal. That would make this transfer window very successful for the club."
