Former Al-Nassr defender Alvaro Gonzalez has offered a unique look at what Cristiano Ronaldo is like away from the spotlight. Their time together at Al-Nassr showed Gonzalez a side of the Portuguese star that many fans might not expect. Gonzalez described Ronaldo as remarkably humble since joining Al-Nassr in Riyadh. Speaking on Radio MARCA, he said the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was "absolutely fantastic inside the dressing room," offering help and being easy to approach. "Inside the dressing room, he's a completely normal person, approachable and someone who helps you," Gonzalez explained.

"From the moment he leaves the dressing room and steps onto the pitch, he completely changes. He's a competitive beast," he said.

During training sessions, Gonzalez noted Ronaldo’s relentless work ethic and the intense physical challenges they had together. Despite these tough encounters, their relationship remained friendly off the field.
"Afterwards, we'd go to the jacuzzi, have some laughs and joke around, and it would all be forgotten," Gonzalez recalled.
A Football Legend in the Making
Gonzalez paid tribute to Ronaldo's lasting legacy alongside his great rival Lionel Messi. He said their names will be etched in football history forever.
"People like him and [Lionel] Messi will go down in the history of football," Gonzalez concluded.

The two shared the pitch in 11 games during the 2022-23 season, with Al-Nassr winning six of those matches before Gonzalez left the club. Now 41 and signed until June 2027, Ronaldo is chasing an incredible milestone of 1,000 official goals.
