Worthing Signs Striker Jordan Young to Boost Attack
Worthing have moved to sharpen their attacking edge with the signing of striker Jordan Young from Torquay United for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old arrives after a prolific spell in National League South, where he hit 35 goals in 88 games for Torquay following his move from Yeovil Town in October 2024. That return made him one of United’s key threats and a standout in the division.
Worthing boss Adam Hinshelwood made no secret of why he pushed to get the deal done, highlighting Young’s threat from set pieces and his ability to change games in an instant. He described his new forward as a player with “great dead-ball delivery” who can both score and create “from out of nowhere”, and backed him to become a crucial part of Worthing’s attack.
Torquay, meanwhile, have protected their longer-term interests. The club confirmed that the agreement includes a clause that gives United a “significant financial interest” in any future transfer involving Young.
Worthing get a proven finisher and dead-ball specialist. Torquay step back from a key player, but keep a stake in whatever his next move brings.
