Woltemade Praises Spalletti's Aura During Loan Spell

German striker Nick Woltemade says he knew within minutes that working under Luciano Spalletti would be different.

The Newcastle forward, currently on loan with the Bianconeri, opened up in a long-form chat with DAZN about his first months in Italy and the impact of the Tuscan coach on his game.

He didn’t start with tactics. He started with a feeling.

“When I met Spalletti for the first time with my family, we all thought one single thing: aura,” Woltemade recalled. “He has a huge aura, he seems calm, but he is very clear in what he wants both on the pitch and off it.”

That first impression has set the tone for his adaptation. A new country, a new dressing room, a demanding manager – the sort of combination that can overwhelm a young forward. Woltemade sounds like he has run towards it instead.

He described a coach who wasted no time in getting to work on the details of his game, zeroing in on specific aspects from the outset.

“He is helping me a lot and immediately began working closely with me to help me improve. I am certain I will become a better player under him,” the striker said.

For Woltemade, the loan is more than a change of shirt. He sees it as the ideal stage to stretch himself, with Spalletti’s clear ideas and strong personality providing both structure and challenge.

With that “huge aura” looming over every training session, the German believes he has landed in the right place to push his career to the next level under one of the game’s most respected coaches.
