Victor Osimhen Addresses Arsenal Transfer Speculation

Victor Osimhen kept his cards close to his chest after the final whistle, but he didn’t exactly slam the door on north London either.

"There are always rumours during the transfer windows. I’ll focus on my job. I’m focused on my work. We’ll see and think about what comes next then," he said, cutting through the speculation without denying the possibility of a future move.

Arsenal are understood to have explored the idea of bringing him to the Emirates during talks over Gabriel Martinelli and highly rated teenager Ethan Nwaneri. Osimhen, though, is tied to Galatasaray on a contract that runs until June 2029, a deal that gives the Istanbul club serious leverage as the window ticks towards its deadline.

For now, he insists his commitment lies in Istanbul.

"It’s going to be a tough season. The team is aware of that. I’m ready to give everything for this club. This was an important wake-up call. It was a wake-up call for the players too," he admitted, acknowledging both the challenge ahead and the jolt his side clearly needed.

The message to the dressing room was followed by one to the stands. Osimhen knows the mood around Rams Park can turn quickly, but he also knows what that stadium feels like when it roars behind a winning team.

"We have to give everything on the pitch. Our fans give us incredible energy, they always support us. We need to reciprocate," he said, demanding a response from his team-mates as much as from himself.

"We need to gain momentum before the Champions League. We need to fight very well from the very first match," he added, underlining the urgency of the next few weeks.
