UND vs Florida Atlantic: First-Ever Clash in Women's Soccer

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota finally comes home, and it comes home to something new.

After a bruising swing through California that yielded a 0-1-1 record, the Fighting Hawks women’s soccer team returns to Bronson Field on Sunday for a noon kickoff against Florida Atlantic – the first meeting between the programs and a fresh marker in UND’s record book.

Two schools. Two nicknames that travel well. No history.

That changes at 12 p.m. CT.

A one-off week with weight

This isn’t just another non-conference date tucked into the middle of September. It’s UND’s only match of the week and the second-to-last outing on the 2026 non-league schedule, a standalone fixture that gives the Hawks a clear target and a clean build-up.

No quick turnaround. No split focus.

Just 90 minutes against the Owls and a chance to reset the tone of the season in front of a home crowd that hasn’t seen its team since the early stages of the campaign.

Bronson Field will stage the “series opener” in what both sides hope becomes a more regular matchup. For now, the slate between North Dakota and Florida Atlantic sits empty: series tied 0-0-0, waiting for a first chapter.

How to watch and follow

For those not making the trip to Grand Forks, every UND home match, including Sunday’s, is carried on the Summit League Network through Midco Sports Plus. The subscription streaming service is the digital hub for Summit League content, pushing out more than 600 live events each year and serving as the exclusive home for UND’s home and road conference soccer broadcasts.

Live updates roll throughout every match on @UNDsoccer on X, with the program also active on Facebook and Instagram under the same handle. For deeper dives – stories, stats, and all the numbers that frame a season – FightingHawks.com keeps the picture moving.

A long road trip is over. A new opponent arrives. The first entry in this North Dakota–Florida Atlantic series gets written on Sunday.
