Tottenham Aggressively Pursues Transfers After Brentford Defeat

Tottenham hit the panic button – and the accelerator.

Less than 24 hours after a bruising 3-0 defeat at Brentford on the Premier League’s opening weekend, Spurs have moved aggressively in the market, turning to Manchester City for firepower.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have reached a full agreement with City for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush in a deal worth €60 million. The former Frankfurt striker is expected in London on Monday to undergo his medical and sign his contract, with only the formalities now standing between him and a move to North London.

This isn’t a one-off raid on City, either. Spurs are already closing in on Savinho from the champions, a transfer expected to cost around €100 million. Two attacking signings, potentially €160 million committed, all in the wake of one heavy defeat.

Tottenham wanted a response after Brentford. They’ve chosen to write it in the transfer market.
