Rodri's Push for Transfer from Manchester City to Barcelona
Rodri is edging closer to a dramatic switch from Manchester City to Barcelona, with the Spanish midfielder pushing hard to make the move happen as soon as possible.
According to Sport, talks between Barça and City have accelerated after the Catalan club lodged a third bid for the Spain international. The two clubs are said to be narrowing the gap in their positions, with the deal now described as closer than ever.
The decisive push is coming from Rodri himself. The world champion wants Barcelona, and he wants it now.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that Rodri is in almost daily contact with several of his Spain team-mates who already wear the Barcelona shirt. Those conversations, full of messages and assurances, leave little doubt about his desire to join them at the Olympic Stadium.
The 2024 Ballon d'Or winner enjoys a particularly strong bond with that Barça core. That personal connection has been central to his decision to back the club’s project and press for the transfer.
Rodri already knows what that dressing room feels like. With Spain, he shares the pitch and the inner circle with a significant bloc of Barcelona players: Eric García, Dani Olmo, Pau Cubarsí, Lamine Yamal, Joan García, Gavi, Pedri and Fermín López.
If City and Barcelona can now find the final compromise, he will not be walking into a strange environment. He will be walking into a team that already feels like home.
