Richarlison Excluded from Tottenham's Premier League Squad
Tottenham have drawn a hard line with Richarlison.
The Brazilian forward has been left out of Spurs’ 25-man Premier League squad for the season, a clear signal that he sits outside new manager Roberto De Zerbi’s plans.
It is a brutal twist for a player who, according to reports in the British press, had set his heart on a late return to Everton in the final days of the transfer window. He wanted a familiar stage, a club where he once carried the attack and built his reputation in English football. The move never materialised. No agreement, no reunion.
So he stays at Tottenham. But not really in Tottenham’s season.
Being frozen out of the league squad deepens an already uncomfortable situation. Only days ago, Richarlison admitted that others had made many of the key decisions in his career, a stark reflection of how little control he feels he has had over his own journey in recent years. Now another major call has gone against him, and this one leaves him watching from the outside.
De Zerbi has made his judgement. There is no role for Richarlison in his Premier League plans. That leaves club and player scrambling for an answer, searching for a way out while there is still time elsewhere.
The pressure now shifts to the remaining open markets. With several leagues still trading, Saudi Arabia and Turkey emerge as the clearest escape routes. Both windows remain open long enough for a deal to be built, for Tottenham to cut ties, and for Richarlison to restart a career that has stalled badly in north London.
If he moves, it will draw a line under a messy chapter. If he doesn’t, he faces the prospect of a season on the fringes, watching a league he once lit up carry on without him.
