Real Madrid's Position on Endrick Amid Aston Villa Transfer Interest

Endrick starts the season back at Real Madrid after a successful loan spell at Lyon last year. Yet, questions linger about his place in the squad due to stiff competition in attack. This has sparked interest from several clubs, including Roma and Aston Villa.

Pre-season Performances and Role Uncertainty

Endrick began pre-season as a starter for the Spanish side. In an early August friendly against Fiorentina, he played 75 minutes and scored in a 2-2 draw. The following Saturday, he featured for 64 minutes during the win over Ferencvaros.

In both matches, he operated as a centre-forward within Mourinho's 4-2-3-1 setup. However, where he will fit in the long term remains unclear: whether as the main striker or on the right wing, a role he held during his Lyon loan. Competition is intense in either position.

Kylian Mbappe appears untouchable as the main forward. On the right wing, new signing Yan Diomande, who cost over 85 million euros, might start, competing with players like Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler, Denzel Dumfries, and Bernardo Silva.

Interest From Other Clubs

Among those interested are Roma, reportedly enquiring about a loan deal, and Aston Villa, where coach Unai Emery has proposed bringing Endrick in on loan to boost their attack as they prepare for Champions League football.

Spanish club Real Sociedad, who tried to sign him before his move to Lyon, have also shown interest. Some Premier League teams have been linked with him too, according to Marca.

Real Madrid’s Firm Stance

Despite all this, Real Madrid want to keep Endrick. According to Trivela, no moves toward a transfer have taken place this window. The club’s plan, set since December when he was loaned out for playing time, remains unchanged: a loan to gain experience, then a return without options for renewal or permanent sale.

Football can shift quickly with injuries or irresistible offers, so plans might evolve. At present, neither the club nor Endrick is pushing for a transfer.

Endrick’s Perspective

Before his stint in France, Endrick wished to stay at Real Madrid. His loan was born out of necessity after limited chances under Xabi Alonso. After a promising season with Carlo Ancelotti, including inheriting the number nine shirt, he still only logged 11 La Liga minutes before going on loan.
