Rafael Leao Addresses Transfer Speculation Amid Galatasaray Interest
Rafael Leao has had enough.
With his name swirling through the transfer rumour mill yet again, the Milan forward went public on Instagram to shut down what he called “speculation and stories that aren’t true” about his future.
The 27-year-old used an Instagram Story to draw a clear line. The image showed him in training with Milan; the message was aimed squarely at those talking about his next move.
“My only thought is on the field: I am concentrated on giving my best, every single game and every single training session,” Leao wrote, before spelling out who actually speaks for him. “Just to avoid any form of speculation and stories that aren’t true, I repeat that for some time I’ve assigned all my interests exclusively to my family and my lawyers. Nobody else is authorised to speak for me. My mind is on the next objectives.”

The timing is no coincidence. Galatasaray have been heavily linked with a move for the former Lille winger, as Turkish clubs circle a player who hinted at the end of last season that his cycle in Milan might be nearing its end. A jump to another of Europe’s top five leagues has not arrived, leaving the Super Lig as a live option, with Fenerbahce and Besiktas also credited with interest alongside the reigning champions.
Milan, though, are in no mood to be rushed or lowballed. Reports in Italy suggest Galatasaray have already tested the waters with an offer in the region of €35 million. The answer from San Siro was a firm no. The Rossoneri are understood to be holding out for a package of at least €60 million, bonuses included, before they will even think about signing off on a sale.
By publicly naming only his family and lawyers as the people authorised to handle his affairs, Leao has effectively disowned any brokers or intermediaries who might be touting his name to clubs abroad. It is a pointed move at a moment when his situation is already delicate.
Milan, for their part, are under no contractual pressure. Leao’s deal runs until June 2028, a long-term commitment that hands the club significant leverage in any negotiation. They have shown no urgency to extend that agreement, but they also do not need to.
That security creates a stand-off of its own. A player who once talked about seeking a “fresh challenge” and a club willing to sell only on their terms, locked together as the market ticks on.
The noise around Leao will not disappear because of one Instagram post. But with August unfolding and the window tightening, the next move — from Milan, from Turkey, or from the player himself — will say far more than any anonymous rumour ever could.
