Omar Marmoush: A Fantasy Premier League Gem for Tottenham
Omar Marmoush has barely walked through the door at Tottenham Hotspur and already the Fantasy Premier League spotlight is swinging his way.
The Egyptian forward, priced at £7.0m, lands in north London from Manchester City with a gift-wrapped opening to the 2026/27 season: a run of fixtures that screams “early punt”.
Home comforts, perfect timing
Tottenham are one of only three clubs – along with Bournemouth and Leeds United – who play three of their next four matches at home. For a player who has thrived on familiar turf, that matters.
Spurs host Newcastle United this weekend, then welcome Everton and Aston Villa in quick succession. The only away trip in that spell is to Nottingham Forest.
The Fixture Difficulty Ratings back up the appeal. None of those four games is rated higher than three on the FDR scale, where five is the toughest and one the softest:
- GW2: Newcastle United (H) – FDR 2
- GW3: Nottingham Forest (A) – FDR 3
- GW4: Everton (H) – FDR 3
- GW5: Aston Villa (H) – FDR 3
For a new signing who loves a home crowd, it’s almost tailor-made.
A City record that points one way
Look at Marmoush’s Premier League numbers for Manchester City and a pattern jumps off the page: he comes alive at home.
Across 2024/25 and 2025/26, he scored all 10 of his league goals at the Etihad Stadium. Every single one. He also supplied two of his four assists there.
His Man City record:
- 2024/25: 7 home goals, 1 home assist; 0 away goals, 0 away assists
- 2025/26: 3 home goals, 1 home assist; 0 away goals, 2 away assists
For a player now walking into a schedule stacked with home games, that split is impossible to ignore.
Ready to start, ready to swing teams
Marmoush did not arrive short of sharpness. He featured prominently for City in pre-season, so he should already be at full match fitness.
That immediately raises the key Fantasy question: does Roberto De Zerbi throw him straight in against Newcastle on Saturday evening?
The evidence from this week suggests he might. De Zerbi handed Savio (£6.5m) a debut just one day after his own move from Man City, starting him in the EFL Cup tie against Charlton Athletic. Savio responded with a goal and an assist.
If the Spurs head coach trusted one new arrival that quickly, Marmoush could be next in line for the same treatment.
A low-owned differential with big upside
Right now, Marmoush sits at just 1.0 per cent ownership in Fantasy. That is differential territory in its purest form.
For managers already locked into Erling Haaland (£15.5m) and tempted by Joao Pedro (£7.6m) up front, Marmoush offers a third-forward option with both pedigree and fixtures on his side.
Three home matches in four. A proven record of delivering in home surroundings. A manager who has just shown he is not afraid to start a new signing immediately.
If he gets the nod against Newcastle and hits the ground running, that 1.0 per cent won’t stay low for long.
