Newcastle Agrees Compensation for Matthias Jaissle Transfer from Al-Ahli
Reports reveal the amount Newcastle United will pay Al-Ahli to secure German coach Matthias Jaissle's services. The transfer marks Jaissle’s move from Saudi Arabia to England’s Premier League.
Jaissle officially resigned from Al-Ahli on Thursday, clearing the path for him to take over as Newcastle’s manager next season, replacing Eddie Howe.
Transfer Fee and Contract Details
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano shared on X that Newcastle is set to pay around 11 million euros in compensation to Al-Ahli. Jaissle will arrive on Saturday to be introduced as Newcastle’s sporting director, signing a contract lasting until 2030.
He was close to agreeing to a similar four-year deal with Al-Ahli, but negotiations faltered due to a clause he requested. This clause would have guaranteed the full value of his contract if he were dismissed, which the Saudi club declined.
Jaissle’s Achievements at Al-Ahli
Since taking charge in 2023 after South African Pitso Mosimane, Jaissle led Al-Ahli to two AFC Champions League Elite titles and a Saudi Super Cup — their first in nine years.
