Monaco Secures Contracts for Moroccan Youth Stars

Monaco have moved quickly to lock in two of Morocco’s brightest young prospects, handing professional contracts to a quartet of academy standouts after a season that turned heads across France.

The club confirmed on Tuesday that four members of its youth ranks have signed their first pro deals, all running until 30 June 2029. The group includes Moroccan youth internationals Safouane Benzahra and Nahil El Haddani, Tunisian-French midfielder Nejd Ajroud and Melvin Gomes Da Veiga.

All four were born in 2008. All four have just helped drive Monaco’s under-19s to the semi-finals of the French league last season. Their rise has been rapid, and it has not gone unnoticed.

According to Foot Mercato, the quartet had already been earmarked for a step up after impressing during pre-season with Filipe Luís’s squad, where they trained alongside senior players and pushed their case for long-term inclusion.

Benzahra has already broken through the glass ceiling. The young Moroccan has made his competitive debut for Monaco, featuring in a Ligue 1 clash against Paris Saint-Germain — a clear signal of the trust the club places in his talent.

For Ajroud, El Haddani and Da Veiga, the path is now clearly marked. Contracts signed, futures secured, they continue their climb towards the first team, knowing Monaco have just put their faith — and a five-year commitment — behind their potential.
