Marc Casadó: Rising Midfield Target in England

Marc Casadó has gone from fringe figure at Barcelona to one of the most talked‑about midfield targets in England.

The 22-year-old, pushed to the margins under new Barça boss Hansi Flick, is drawing serious interest from the Premier League, with five clubs tracking his situation ahead of the new season.

For much of the summer, a move to Saudi Arabia looked the likeliest escape route from the Spotify Camp Nou. The money is there, the offers are real. But Casadó has made it clear he wants to stay in one of Europe’s top five leagues, and that stance has opened the door for England’s elite to move.

According to Mundo Deportivo, citing English outlet TEAMtalk, several Premier League sides have already made contact to ask about the midfielder’s availability and conditions. One club, though, has stepped to the front of the queue.

Current Interest

Nottingham Forest are currently leading the race, with the Midlands club pushing hardest to bring Casadó to the City Ground. They are not alone. Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Sunderland are also in the frame, each monitoring developments as Barcelona look to reshape their squad and raise funds.

Barcelona's Stance

Barça’s stance is clear: they want a significant fee. The Catalan giants are hoping to bring in around €40 million from Casadó’s sale, a sizeable figure for a player who has not been central to Flick’s plans.

Now the question is simple. Who in England is prepared to pay it?
