Liverpool Squad Updates: Morrison Joins Sheffield Wednesday

Andoni Iraola has started to sharpen his Liverpool squad, and the first cuts are already out on loan.

Kieran Morrison, one of the standout performers on Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the USA, has completed a season-long move to Sheffield Wednesday for the 2026-27 campaign. The 19-year-old winger had interest from clubs on the continent but chose League One, convinced that regular minutes at Hillsborough will accelerate his development.

Liverpool moved earlier in the summer to protect their asset, tying Morrison down to a new contract running until 2030. Now comes the real test: turning promise into end product in a demanding, physical division.

Another full-back departure is close. Calvin Ramsay is set to join St Mirren on loan in the Scottish Premiership. The 23-year-old right-back, who is out of contract at Anfield next summer, will be playing not just for game time, but for his longer-term future as Iraola continues to reshape the squad.
