Liverpool Nearing £120m Signing of Barcola as Premier League Transfer Dominoes Fall
Liverpool are on the brink of landing Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola in a deal that could rise to a staggering £120m, with more than £100m guaranteed. A marquee signing. And one that could trigger a chain reaction across the market.
Barcola is now closing in on becoming the latest headline arrival at Anfield. His move would reshape Liverpool’s forward line and, crucially, may clear the path for Cody Gakpo to head to Tottenham.
Spurs remain firmly interested in the Netherlands international. Their pursuit hinges on Liverpool getting Barcola over the line; once that happens, the door opens for Gakpo to become the next attacking piece in Ange Postecoglou’s puzzle.
Chelsea push for Ahanor
At Stamford Bridge, the recruitment drive shows no sign of slowing.
Chelsea are in talks to sign Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor, one of the most highly rated teenage defenders in Serie A, according to BBC Sport. The 18-year-old has quickly built a reputation as a standout young talent, and the Blues want him in before the window shuts as they continue to stockpile elite prospects for the future.
Villa, Chelsea and the striker carousel
The centre-forward market is spinning fast.
Nicolas Jackson is set for a medical at Aston Villa after Unai Emery’s side agreed a £65m deal with Chelsea for the striker, report The Telegraph. That move would hand Jackson the chance to lead the line in the Midlands and give Chelsea another major outgoing in their ongoing rebuild.
Jackson’s switch is expected to unlock another move: Ollie Watkins to Al Hilal in a £51m deal. Villa’s talisman has been central to their rise under Emery, but Saudi Pro League money is again tempting a Premier League star away.
Villa are not stopping there. They are battling Crystal Palace for Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez, with BBC Sport reporting that Palace are trying to hijack the deal. Two ambitious clubs, one highly regarded defender, and very little time left in the window.
Aston Villa have also asked about West Ham defender Jean-Clair Todibo, according to the Daily Mail, as they look to reinforce a back line that will be stretched by domestic and European demands.
One more twist from Villa: Ipswich Town are close to sealing a loan move for striker Tammy Abraham from the Midlands club, say Sky Sports. A former Chelsea forward, a promotion challenger, and a fresh start in the Championship – it’s a move that would raise eyebrows and expectations at Portman Road.
City and Arsenal circle Ndiaye
At the top end of the Premier League, two heavyweights are tracking the same target.
Manchester City and Arsenal are both monitoring Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye, according to TalkSport. The Senegal international is reportedly valued at around £80m, a price that underlines how highly he is rated at Goodison Park.
If Liverpool land Barcola, Spurs secure Gakpo, Chelsea cash in on Jackson, and Villa reshape their attack, the next major battle could be over Ndiaye. Who blinks first in that fight might say plenty about where the title race is heading.
