Darragh MacAnthony, owner of Peterborough United, expressed his admiration for Lewis-Skelly and suggested Liverpool should pursue him. He said, "I love him, I think he's a great, young player. Why has he not been offered to Liverpool? Someone asked, 'What's he worth?' I said, anywhere from £40-60 million for a player of that age who is English."
Adding Competition for Liverpool’s Defence
With Milos Kerkez expected to start as Liverpool’s first-choice left-back ahead of Kostas Tsimikas, who still aims to fight for his place, MacAnthony believes Lewis-Skelly would provide much-needed competition. When asked if he would welcome him at Anfield, MacAnthony responded, "All day long. We need competition for our left-back. No disrespect to Tsimikas, but not for me. And he can play in midfield, we’ve seen him in that role too." On his strongest position, MacAnthony added, "Correct. Liverpool are crying out for that type of player with defensive skills and also technical attacking ability."
