Liverpool Line Up 2027 Deal for Djylian N'Guessan

Liverpool are working right at the edges of the transfer window – and well beyond it.

While the club waits to formally unveil Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, plans for the attack are already stretching years into the future. According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign St Etienne striker Djylian N'Guessan, with the teenager scheduled to arrive at Anfield in the summer of 2027.

The agreement is in place with both club and player, with Romano reporting that N'Guessan has given the green light and has permission to undergo a medical. The fee remains under wraps, but the structure mirrors Liverpool’s recent business for the next generation.

They have just struck a €35 million deal with Genk for goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans, who will also join next summer rather than immediately. N'Guessan’s move follows the same long-range blueprint: secure the talent early, let him grow elsewhere, and bring him in when he is closer to first-team readiness.

All of this comes while Liverpool still scan the market for another forward who can help right now. Supporters can see the long-term project taking shape, but patience will be tested if senior reinforcements do not arrive before this window closes.

Who is Djylian N'Guessan?

N'Guessan only turned 18 recently, but St Etienne already view him as a genuine attacking prospect. A centre-forward by trade, he can also operate in wide areas, giving him the kind of flexibility Liverpool’s recruitment team has consistently valued.

He has made 13 senior appearances for St Etienne, several of them in the 2024-25 season, while most of his minutes have come with the club’s B team and under-19 side. Internationally, he has been capped up to under-20 level for his country, another marker of his standing among his age group.

For now, his development will continue in France. Staying with St Etienne, where minutes are more accessible and the environment is familiar, may prove more valuable than an immediate jump into the intensity and scrutiny of Liverpool’s first team.

Liverpool, though, have made their move. With Brughmans lined up, Barcola edging closer, and N'Guessan locked in for 2027, the recruitment department is drawing a clear line into the future.

The only question is how quickly the present catches up.
