Juventus Sign Kamil Grabara on Loan as Goalkeeping Overhaul Continues

Juventus have officially added Kamil Grabara to their ranks, sealing a loan move for the Wolfsburg goalkeeper as the club continue a rapid reshaping of their options between the posts.

It is the second goalkeeping signing in a matter of days. Both arrivals are on loan. Both are part of a clear plan.

Spalletti’s rebuild in goal

The goalkeeping position has nagged away at Juventus for some time, and Luciano Spalletti made it a priority as soon as this summer’s planning began. He wanted a new number one. The club delivered.

Michele Di Gregorio, who had held that role, was moved out, agreeing a loan switch to Bournemouth. To replace him, Juventus turned to the Premier League and brought in Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham, also on a temporary deal.

That seemed to settle the hierarchy. For a moment.

Perin exit forces another move

Just as Juventus had their new first choice in place, the market twisted again. Palermo came in for Mattia Perin, and the experienced keeper accepted their proposal.

His departure opened up a hole on the bench and in the dressing room. Juventus had to react quickly.

They went back into the market and secured Grabara on loan from Wolfsburg, who had just dropped out of the Bundesliga. The Polish keeper arrives as the clear number two on paper, but with a very real chance to disrupt that order.

Real competition for Vicario

Officially, Vicario is expected to start the season as Spalletti’s first choice. That is the plan.

But Grabara has not come just to watch.

Juventus see him as genuine competition. If he impresses over the coming weeks, he will push Vicario hard for the starting shirt, and Spalletti has shown throughout his career that he will not hesitate to reward form over reputation.

For the coach, this is exactly the kind of battle he wanted in a position that has needed a reset. For the club, it is overdue.

Depth, flexibility and a point to prove

Grabara now walks into one of Italy’s biggest stages with a double mission: establish himself at Juventus and sharpen Vicario’s levels through constant pressure.

His presence gives Spalletti another credible option, greater depth, and a safety net in a role that has been under the microscope for too long. With both Vicario and Grabara on loan, Juventus also keep financial and sporting flexibility, able to reassess at the end of the campaign without long-term commitments.

The Bianconeri believe this revamped department can bring the stability that has been missing in recent seasons. Whether Vicario holds off the challenge or Grabara forces his way in, one thing is certain: the fight for the Juventus goal has only just begun.
